Eshrefoglu Rumi (d.1484) was a young Sufi learner. One day, his spiritual master toke all the learner in to the mountains und demand from them:
"Everyone should bring me a Violet!"
Everyone of the learners has begun, like a competition, to bring the beautifulest Violet to their master. After a little time they turn back with beautiful Violets in their hands and begun to stand in a line in front of the master.
At the last range was Eshrefoglu Rumi, with a benden neck and very ashamed situation. He gave the flower at last to the master. As the master saw the withered flower, he begans to ask Eshrefoglu Rumi, with smiling:
"Oh my Derwish! Couldn't you found a beautiful and a living Violet?"
He answers very ashamed:
"I found, but I couldn't pick anyone. Because, all Violets have Praised (Zikr) they Lord. I couldn't break their Praising. For this, I could only pick up and bring you this Violet, which has finished his Praising!"
The master hold the young Eshrefoglu and kissed him between his eyebrows.
