Islam is a complete way of life and a complete life is made up of sorrow and happiness, test and result, good and bad and both aspects of life with all its dimensions. Life cannot be one sided. There cannot be happiness only, nor can there be sorrow only in one’s life. So is the case that when we think of an Islamic life, we rightfully think that it should be balanced with both heavier and lighter moments and of course an Islamic life is comprehensive span of time spent on this earth encompassing every aspect of life. A beautiful girl in the village was pregnant. Her angry parents demanded to know who was the father. At first resistant to confess, the anxious and embarrassed girl finally pointed to Hakuin, the Zen master whom everyone previously revered for living such a pure life.
